Facebook Found a Voice

This morning, for approximately 20 minutes, I was kicked off of Facebook – which was annoying until I got back onto Facebook and realized I had a new feature (which, I am going to say is why I was kicked off in the first place). Anyway, when I finally made it back into Facebook I noticed a brand new feature on one of my Pages – Voice.

The Voice feature on Facebook Pages seems to have replaced the settings option to actively engage on your brand pages as yourself or your brand. Prior to the Voice feature, any administrator of the Facebook Page could choose to either act as the Brand/Company or as themselves when on the Page. You can see in the screenshot below.

However, now with the Voice feature on Facebook, you no longer have to choose a permanent  setting. You can flip-flop between two profiles right on the page (see image below).

At first glance, I thought  this new feature took away the “Use Facebook As” feature – but it didn’t. You still have the option to fully take on the identity of your brand and engage with any other Pages throughout Facebook. Awesome.

So, to recap, the Voice feature lets Page owners toggle between their personal identity and the brand identity right on the Facebook Page  and you can still use Facebook as your brand at any time to engage with other pages. Pretty cool stuff, Facebook. Nice work.
