The word of the day is “Pinterest.” The online app allows users to create virtual pin boards from photos, videos and articles around the Web with the click of a mouse. Fashionistas and interior design aficionados have apparently known about Pinterest for some time, which makes sense because the visual nature of the Web site lends itself to all things photogenic and lust worthy. The team at FSC is investigating ways to best leverage Pinterest as a communications vehicle to engage with consumers. In fact, we’ll be sure to share on our own FSC Pinterest board. In the meantime, Ashley found several brands that have already begun using the tool in new creative ways for contests, product reviews and brand transparency.

I have two accounts, one with regional imagery and pics of my favourite local products (see link), and another for my personal use to keep track of recipes (I threw away my recipe folder after getting Pinterest), design ideas and other aspirational things.
