Social Media is quickly evolving into the prime realm of modern self obsession. Twitter users post updates to their “followers” with the assumption that every one of them is waiting for the next little tidbit of information. But is this narcissism really bad for us and our society?

Want to know what your chances of getting into college are? There’s an app for that, a Facebook app that is. AdmissionSplash, a new Facebook application that tells students how likely they are to gain admission at their school of choice, is making a splash with college-aged students everywhere.

Steve:

Conan O’Brien has spent the last year reinventing himself after the NBC Tonight Show debacle threatened to end his career. The 47 year old comedian was able to engineer a highly successful comeback mainly by embracing social media. He sold out a 30 city comedy/music tour by advertising only on Twitter for free. A small army of online fans created such a high demand that he was virtually guaranteed a new show. All because of Social Media.

We’ve been following the Social Media fueled revolution in Egypt since it began, and now that Mubarak has finally stepped down, the analysis of Social Media’s role is beginning.
